SALES/MARKETING/BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
Arrowhead Publishers & Conferences creates, organizes and produces conferences covering various life sciences topics. Events are held in multiple locations around the US and are attended by members of the biotech and pharma community, as well as academicians and government researchers.
This position will be responsible for a variety of key tasks essential to the growth of Arrowhead’s conference business.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Responsibilities
• Identify and contact potential conference attendees
• Publicize conferences via social media (twitter, Linked In) and company’s social media account
• Write blog posts for various conference websites
• Lead development research to identify potential attendees and speakers for conferences
• Post conferences to various conference calendars
• Assist with writing of press releases and press release distribution
• Assist with management of customer database
• Respond to customer queries
• Website content updates
• Assist team with miscellaneous tasks relating to conferences, including pre-conference communication and various administrative tasks
• Identify potential sponsors, exhibitors and media partners for conferences
• Research conference topics utilizing the internet, phone and trade publications
Essential Experience
• College degree
• Three years experience in marketing, sales and/or business development, with preference given to those with experience in events/conferences industry
• Comfortable speaking on the phone to potential conference attendees
• Experience using Linked In and Twitter for business purposes
